It's a fine snow-mance....

My lovely neighbour Tom Williams's film 'Chalet Girl' goes on general release tomorrow so make sure you go and see it.

This is Tom's first full length feature so it would be great if it did really well.

Anyone who likes a 'Bridget Jones' type romp with beautiful scenery and a much-needed happy ending will love it. Starring Ed Westwick (for the girls) of 'Gossip Girl' fame and the gorgeous Felicity Jones (for the boys) with Bill Bailey and Tamsin Egerton it tells the story of Kim who, stuck in a dead end job trying to support her sickly father, get an opportunity to work in one of the most exclusive chalets in the Alps. If you want to know more, you'll have to go and see it.

For anyone living in the vicinity of Salisbury, Tom will be introducing the film at The Odeon in New Canal on Saturday with, hopefully, some members of the cast. Everyone is welcome and kick off is at 7.45pm.  Sadly I'll be at the X-Factor Tour....

I've heard quite a bit about this film - I would have thought it would do very well. Good luck to Tom.

Hope it does really well, Wylye Girl. My niece spent six months as a chalet girl in Chamonix and the tales she could tell.....

My daughter can't wait for this to come out. I didn't realize that Ed Westwick was even English!

Trish, it has certainly had a lot of publicity so I hope it takes off for Tom. He's worked so hard on it.

Steve, it's not going to change the world but it will, hopefully, have a nice 'feel good' feeling about it which is much needed in the world today methinks

Perpetua, there have been loads of journos writing about their experiences of being chalet girls. They would make your toes curl!!

Mother Hen, I didn't either. Hope your daughter enjoys it

I don't suppose it will get to me out here, but the trailer looks fun. Hope it takes off.

I think this movie sounds fun and it's got a great cast.

Fly, you never know but if it does, it's a very sweet, feelgood film. I saw it yesterday while The Girl was at The X-factor Tour. It was very well received and people even cheered at the pivotal moment in the film.

Veggie, by the time I've wriggled out of my Magic Pants - the human equivalent of being swallowed by a boa constrictor - Wagner would be back at home taming a lion or whatever it is he does when he's not assaulting our eardrums. Fortunately I didn't have to go in. I went to the cinema and saw Chalet Girl and ate Ben and Jerry's icecream. Much more pleasant!

auntiegwen - have you got their number?

About Last Weekend - hello and welcome to my blog. It's always lovely to have new readers. I saw the film yesterday and did enjoy it. Very feelgood and hilarious in places. If you like that genre of quirky British film, you'll love it. I'm so pleased for Tom. It's the hardest thing in the world to get a film into production in the UK these days and to have such supportive companies working with you must have been a great experience. Shall be over to yours soon.

Lottie - hello to you too and welcome. I didn't actually watch the concert, my daughter took her best friend as part of her Christmas present. They could hardly speak when they came out as they screamed so much and they had fantastic seats. Glad you enjoyed it too. Shall be over to yours shortly.

XFactor...... I can't tell my 8yo you're going to THAT. She'll apply for adoption by you.

I'm sure I heard them talking about this film on R4... sounds very interesting

Actually Lou that would be fine. The Girl would love a little sister and adopting your 8yo would be a hell of a lot easier than trying to conceive my own at this late stage in my life - and all for the price of an X factor Tour ticket... Bargain! x
